Message From the Past President
|
December 30, 2009
Dear ACA Members and Future Members:
I hope everyone is doing well and surviving the economic turmoil of 2009. I know the economy has been challenging for some shops, and wish you all the best for 2010.
As the current President, I wanted to let you know that the Board of Directors has made changes at ACA. We no longer have an Executive Director and are in the process of reorganizing. The Board of Directors welcomes any input you have and hope you do reach out to us with your ideas. We feel that this change will be positive for the association and necessary to become more visible to you, our members. We have hired 501 Consultants, Inc. to run the business of the association under the direction of the board. Our contact at 501 Consultants, Inc. is Vicky Scharlau and she comes highly recommended with a long track record of helping non-profit organizations stay organized, advance their mission, and most importantly, communicate with membership. We as a board are excited about 501 Consultants helping us to advance the mission of the ACA.
Over the years the benefits of belonging to the association have often not been promoted well. With your input and your dues, we provide you with: -Annual meetings highlighting nationally recognized speakers -Meetings held in family oriented locations -Educational events with a focus on negotiating and estimating -Lean production seminars -Legislative representation on industry issues in Olympia -Proactive representation with regulatory agencies, like Puget Sound Clean Air, Health Department, L&I, DOE, and fire departments -Chapter meetings discussing pertinent industry topics -Retrospective rating program -Opportunity to associate with industry colleagues -Opportunity to meet with insurers to discuss future trends
We are excited about the future of ACA and are looking for your help...not only with your membership but we will be calling you to help with some of the responsibilities. Remember, what you get out of any important endeavor is in direct proportion to what you put into that endeavor! With your small contribution of time, we will continue to keep the association more valuable than ever!
Remember, we are a non-profit trade group of individual and independent businesses in the automobile collision repair industry. Our mission is to provide education, information, and services as well as promote the image of our industry by setting a premier standard of excellence. Thank you for your past contributions and we look forward to seeing you in the future!
Best regards,
Pat Murray President

January 2010
Dear ACA Members and Future Members: Welcome to 2010! The directors of ACA are excited about what the new decade will bring for our businesses and for the Association. We are well on our way into planning for 2010 including our annual meeting in early May and a golf outing in June! You will soon be receiving a 2010 ACA Member Dues Form in the mail. Would you please fill it out and let us know how you'd like your dues handled this year? The board encourages you to consider quarterly or even an annual payment to help us reduce the cost of billing monthly. The contact information is particularly important as we are switching over to a new database along with electronic formatting (so please include your email address!). With your input and your dues, the Association will provide you with: --Annual meetings highlighting nationally recognized speakers (Stay tuned for details) --Meetings held in family oriented locations (We're looking for centrally located and family oriented) --Educational events with a focus on negotiating and estimating (We're looking for your ideas) --Lean production seminars --Legislative representation on industry issues in Olympia (Short Session this year but state budget a huge issue) --Proactive representation with regulators like Puget Sound Clean Air, Health Department, L&I, DOE, and fire departments (It pays to be at the table) --Chapter meetings discussing pertinent industry topics (Remind your neighbors to join!) --Retrospective rating program (Since 1997 members received $763,778 in refunds and paid only $364,909 in assessments...info is in your mailing) --Opportunity to associate with industry colleagues (A place to get your best ideas!) --Opportunity to meet with insurers to discuss future trends (The issues are changing!)
Your board is truly excited about the future of ACA and looking for your help...not only with your membership but we need volunteers. Remember, what you get out of any important endeavor is in direct proportion to what you put in! With your contribution of time, we will continue to keep the association more valuable than ever!
Being a Member of Autobody Craftsman Association
My ACA membership is very important to me. By sharing the cost of education, legislative representation and membership services, these vital things become not only available but affordable. I also appreciate the opportunity to communicate with my peers on a regular basis. Mike West Owner/Operator Southtowne Auto Rebuild Tukwila The Autobody Craftsman Association is very important to me because of the benefits of being able to meet with each other and discuss the issues of our industry. I also enjoy the great speakers that the association brings to us from all over the country. Dan Schindler Olsen Auto Body Bellingham
The Autobody Craftsman Association is important for our industry and important for my business. ACA helps keep me informed on trends within our industry. They assist in bringing in national speakers for local educational and training seminars thus saving me money on travel and hotel expenses. And I like the meeting forums in which I can discuss current issues with fellow shop owners and managers. ACA has been proactive on legislative issues that arise and they keep me informed on bills that may affect by business. Raymon Bonner Dallys Autobody Mt. Vernon
One of the most important benefits of belonging to ACA is being able to sit in a room with shop owners to share thoughts and ideas. Yes, it's nice to attend a conference with motivational speakers, but the greatest value I have ever received is from fellow shop owners. Pat Murray Murray's Collision Center Kent
Will you join ACA too?
